What could be better after a long Monday than spending the evening with family over a picnic dinner on the lush, fresh grass of the Joe Farmer Recreation Center Amphitheatre, enjoying live music filtering through the evening air? How about being able to do that every Monday for six weeks?
The 15th Annual Summer Sounds Concert Series kicks off on Monday, May 21, and continues every Monday with a different concert through June 25. All Summer Sounds concerts happen at the Joe Farmer Recreation Center Amphitheatre, 1201 E. Bethany. The music will range from contemporary pop hits to zydeco to a Beatles tribute act and more. All Summer Sounds concerts are free and begin at 7 p.m. each Monday night. Light concessions and snow cones are available for purchase. Ground blanket seating is preferred so that concert goers of all ages can enjoy the best line of sight.
Tonight’s Band – Zydeco Stingrays
Debuting in 2006, The Zydeco Stingrays regularly deliver their high-energy live show to unique venues and audiences — who are the driving force of the ‘Stingray experience’. With two full-length original recordings chronicling their inspiring journey, the Zydeco Stingrays enjoy the scarce status of Dallas’ peerless zydeco ticket. However you choose to define them, it’s a party!
